Playground · Fretboard
Learn the fretboard: it names a note, you play it, the microphone checks.
It names a note and a string; you find it and play it, and the tuner's pitch detector says yes or no. Or the other way round: it marks a spot on the neck and you name the note. It counts right answers, your current and best streak, and the notes you keep missing, so you know what to practise. Choose the strings and the range of frets you're working on.

How it judges
A note counts once it has held for four frames within forty cents of a pitch, so a string brushed on the way doesn't count. The octave matters: the E at the 12th fret of the low E string (E3) and the open high E (E4) are different answers. A wrong note held for a moment is a miss, and the right answer is shown. Silence isn't a miss; the page just waits.
What this page sends
Nothing leaves your browser. The microphone opens when you press start; each frame is checked for pitch and dropped, so nothing is recorded. The score and the notes you miss are held in the page's memory until you leave, and no request goes to a server.
